The UMSRG is a group of University of Mississippi faculty and staff working across disciplines to learn more about the history of slavery and enslaved people in Oxford and on campus.

UMSRG is led by Charles K. Ross, Professor of History, Jeff Jackson, Associate Professor of Sociology and chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Jodi Skipper, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Southern Studies, and Anne Twitty, Associate Professor of History. The UMSRG includes 58 faculty members across 17 academic departments.
